Jardin Majorelle (Majorelle Garden) is a tranquil oasis from the hustle and bustle of the medina in Marrakesh, Morocco. The vibrant colors of blue, turquoise, yellow and the accents of the abundant flowers and plants that fill the botanical garden make this the picture perfect location for a peaceful and relaxing day. The distinct shade of cobalt blue is even known as “Majorelle blue” and can be seen throughout various buildings and textiles in Marrakesh. Fashion designer Yves Saint-Laurent has ties to the garden and was instrumental in saving and restoring the villa and garden, which was going to be torn down and turned into a hotel. After his death, he was cremated and his ashes were scattered here. The Yves Saint-Laurent Museum is also located here.
